JEEP DRIVING TO THE UVAC MEANDER

A tour of the Uvac meander with off-road vehicles is possible throughout the year and regardless of the weather conditions. The tours last about two and a half hours. Jeeps with a maximum of four passengers can reach the “Veliki vrh” lookout point, from where you can see as many as seven meanders of Serbian Colorado. In the hut near the lookout point, in summer guests can refresh themselves with coffee, cold drinks or pancakes. The time spent at the lookout is about half an hour, which is quite enough to enjoy the view of the river and the colonies of the griffon vulture, as well as taking photos.

No special preparation is needed for the tour, the ride is comfortable because the road that leads to the meander is asphalt all the way to Aljinović. After that village, you cross 15 kilometers of rural, macadam road, which is also used by the locals. The path that leads from the place where jeeps are parked to the lookout is only a hundred meters long.

Cars do not stop along the way during this tour, but drivers know the stories of this area well and are happy to reveal interesting facts about the beauties of Zlatar to passengers. A maximum of four people can ride with the driver, but also only one passenger. But if you went on the adventure alone and want to share the costs, the organizers will connect you with other tourists whose jeeps have space.

No special preparation is required to drive to the meander of Uvac, because the time that will be waiting for you at the lookout is the same as at Zlatar itself. It doesn’t matter that you are in good shape, because from the place where the jeeps are parked to the plateau from where the meanders can be seen, a path leads through the forest that can be crossed in just two or three minutes. Thus, jeep drivers say that they also took seniors, people who were recovering from operations, and even those who are in plaster. If it is impossible for a visitor to cross those hundred meters, don’t worry, kind drivers will take you to the lookout point
